Event will discuss the current applications of both structural and functional MRI as a biomarker in neurological conditions. Following the recent publicity around diagnosing Autism using MRI, this event will delve into questions such as “Are some conditions more suited to imaging biomarkers than others?” and "Can imaging biomarkers be applied rigorously to conditions governed by behaviours such as Autism?". This meeting will also examine looking at MRI biomarkers for early onset and progression of disease in such cases as Dementia. The application of techniques such as Voxel Based Morphometry (VBM), Feature Based Morphometry (FBM), and Support Vector Machine (SVM) for deriving image biomarkers will be considered.
